Dunkirk – Roundtable featurette – Harry Styles

Dunkirk Dunkirk is coming to UK cinemas on July 21st, and it looks great, but I don’t want too many spoilers before I watch it, but there’s something a bit special compared to a trailer which has been released today…

This latest video is a candid roundtable conversation between young stars Fionn Whitehead, Harry Styles, Tom Glynn Carney and Jack Lowden, who discuss their experiences making the film and their excitement for its upcoming release all of which is introduced by its director, Christopher Nolan.

Dunkirk is the first Nolan movie to hit the big screen since 2014’s Interstellar.

About the movie, and more down-to-earth than Nolan’s space-based adventure, it tells the tale of the miraculous evacuation of Allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain and France, who were cut off and surrounded by the German army from the beaches and harbor of Dunkirk, France, between May 27th and June 4th 1940, during the Battle of France in World War II.

The film isn’t short on big names, as it stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, James D’Arcy, Aneurin Barnard, Jack Gover and One Direction’s Harry Styles!

If there’s one man that knows what to do with 70mm IMAX in 1.44:1, it’s Christopher Nolan. If he put out a film of him reading the phone book in 1.44:1, I’d probably pay £15 to go and see that in IMAX!

Dunkirk washes up on UK shores on July 21st, 2017, and has a running time of 107 minutes, which must be Nolan’s shortest big-budget movie to date!

Quite glad I won’t have a numb bum, and I think around 105 minutes is the optimum length for most films – not to long and not too short.
