Experimenter leads with Peter Sarsgaard as famed social psychologist Stanley Milgram, based on a true story. In 1961, he conducted a series of radical behaviour experiments that tested ordinary humans willingness to obey by using electric shock. The film follows Milgram, from meeting his wife Sasha (Winona Ryder) through his controversial experiments that sparked public outcry.
The film also stars Taryn Manning, Anton Yelchin, Kellan Lutz, John Leguizamo, Lori Singer, Anthony Edwards, Dennis Haysbert and Vondie Curtis-Hall, and I knew something of these experiments but not everything, so I’m very much looking forward to this.
Experimenter is out now in US cinemas, but hasn’t yet got a UK date. Hopefully it will have soon.
