Submergence – International Trailer 1 – Alicia Vikander

Submergence Submergence has a trailer which makes this look like a load of drippy nonsense that normally wins Oscars, but it’s not been released for Oscar season even though the two leads have tasted awards success before.

In a room with no windows on the eastern coast of Africa, an Englishman, James More (James McAvoy), is held captive by jihadist fighters. Thousands of miles away in the Greenland Sea, Danielle Flinders (Alicia Vikander) prepares to dive in a submersible to the ocean floor. In their confines they are drawn back to the Christmas of the previous year, where a chance encounter on a beach in France led to an intense and enduring romance.

Submergence is released in the UK on May 18th and I won’t be crossing oceans to see this.
