The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the World – Gameplay Trailer – E3 2016

The Legend of Zelda The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the World is the new Zelda title coming simultaneously to Wii U and Nintendo’s forthcoming console, NX, and comprises of a vast new world which feels alive and teeming with adventure. It’s one of the biggest experiences ever created by Nintendo with wide-ranging plateaus and even just the one location being shown off at E3 is too big for anyone to get to grips with, and even then, it’s only a small portion of the whole game!

It’s an action-adventure game which will takes place in a fully connected overworld, similar to the first The Legend of Zelda, albeit with less emphasis on defined entrances and exits to dungeons. You’ll get more freedom in the game, allowing you to decide your destination and method of travel. You can get about on foot or on Link’s horse, Epona, who automatically avoids obstacles, allowing you to concentrate on other tasks, such as shooting arrows. Link can also leap off Epona and enter The Matrix-style bullet time to better aim his bow at enemies.

The game will also support data saved to the Wolf Link Amiibo, which was released in a bundle with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

You’ll have a wait for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the World, however, as it has been delayed until an as-yet-unspecified date in 2017. Given that we’re getting no news about the NX at E3 2016, if they end up delaying that reveal until E3 2017, as I would expect, then you’ll be looking at a Christmas 2017 release for the game as it’s no doubt a flagship title for the new NX console.
