Gothenburg new wave punk funksters get make-over. Not always a good idea.
Sandwiched between two remixes of Felt Tip (tracks 1 & 9), all manner ofmusical buddies have chipped-in, to remix, or in this case, really mix thingsup, with varying degrees of success.
There are some tracks that work wonderfully, and some which, seriously dont.One thing that doesnt change is Josephine Olaussons horrid yelps, so wereleft to others to add their so called expertise in the tweeking chamber.
The goodies are Metronomys Human League-Bowie like slant on the funky Spinning And Scratching,with the punchy and dance orientated Busy Doing Nothing by Uptime turningout to be a real cracker. The Bees handling of Make Out, Fall Out, Make Upis awesome, giving it a genuine James Brown ’70s funky groove – Mark Ronsonwould be proud of this one.
Not so goodies are Chicken Lips version which is lacking in all areas. Surprisingly,knowing the quality of Maps, they do a sub-standard Euro dance version of Turn The Radio Off.Tapedeck dont do much better with their take of Busy Doing Nothing.
One more goodie to end, typically, rising stars Hot Chip add a touch of classtotally transforming their Felt Tip remix.

Elly Roberts passed away in 2011, but he was a man who was so passionate about all types of music and loved meeting his musical heroes, such as Mick Hucknall at a book signing at the Trafford Centre, Manchester in 2007.
A former teacher and also a music journalist, DJ and radio presenter on local community station Calon FM, plus appearances on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio 2, Elly started doing reviews for DVDfever.co.uk in 2004 and he did the majority of the CD and concerts reviews on the website.
I know also that he loved getting away for the summer to Spain and I hope that wherever he is now he is enjoying the hot sunshine and, as one of his friends has said on his Facebook page, that he is interviewing his musical heroes.
