Breaking Bad Creator Releases New Show on Apple TV: Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad, has now released his new show, Pluribus. He’s openly said that he can see the show running for more than two seasons, with rave reviews so far. The Apple TV series stars Rhea Seehorn from Better Call Saul. It follows her story as the only person to somehow become immune to a viral outbreak that has infected the world, and left everyone feeling happier than ever. The show has been greenlit;for a second season already, but Gilligan believes that the show has potential beyond that.
Breaking Bad has Led to Numerous Spin-offs
Breaking Bad was a huge success for Gilligan, with the show leading to numerous spinoffs. Some of them include Better Call Saul, which was widely successful. El Camino was also a huge success. The film followed Jesse Pinkman and showed what happened immediately after the Breaking Bad finale.
AMC has expressed an interest in expanding the universe even further. Outside of television, Breaking Bad has also expanded into iGaming. Casino games like Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad Roulette showcase the green smoke that’s synonymous with the Breaking Bad start-up sequence, and feature;different characters from the show. In the game, a scene pops up and plays before randomly selected numbers appear, adding a new dimension to the game while embracing the famous TV show. There’s also a Breaking Bad podcast, which is hosted by Vince Gilligan and editor Kelley Dixon. It’s hosted every week and gives fans additional insight into the story and the show, which is surprising given Gilligan’s extensive schedule with Pluribus.
Season Two is Already Greenlit
Season two of Pluribus has been greenlit and approved, but the director has admitted that they don’t have the answers yet as to where the story is going to go. He’s also admitted that he didn’t have the answers for Breaking Bad or even Better Call Saul. He’s also said that if anything, this made them more creative when they entered the drawing board stage. Apparently, they have some ideas as to how the show should wind up, but a lot of the groundwork is yet to be done.
With Pluribus already getting great reviews from critics, and with two Golden Globe nominees, it’s certainly an interesting concept.
While Gilligan has said that he isn’t going to reveal any details about upcoming seasons, he has hinted that some of the characters in season one are going to have a bigger role to play. Koumba Diabate is one character he would like to put more of a spotlight on, alongside Zosia and Manousos. Carol, the main character who is played by Rhea Seehorn, is also going to remain as a core character, meaning we could be in for a treat given how the finale ended.
With Gilligan’s other shows experiencing such critical acclaim, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this show reach the same heights as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, but it may need a few more seasons to let its themes play out fully.
