KARL HOWMAN IN Brush Strokes: The Complete Series One & Two 25th Anniversary Edition
25 YEARS ago, Karl Howman as cheeky chappy Jacko, painted his way into the country’s hearts when the hilarious Brush Strokes first appeared on BBC TV in 1986. Written by British sitcom creators extraordinaire John Esmonde and Bob Larbey, (Please Sir!,The Good Life), it ran for six series over six years and 40 episodes.
Now to celebrate its quarter century anniversary Acorn Media presents Brush Strokes: The Complete Series One & Two: 25 Anniversary Edition DVD boxed set, which will be released on 5 September 2011.
Jacko is a painter, decorator and all-round charmer who is never happier than when he’s in the company of a good woman or any woman for that matter. He can’t help himself, he just loves the ladies and spends his time trying to share the love with anyone he can, from the boss’s daughter to a novice nun.
Working for Bainbridge Decorators alongside his side-kick Eric and under the watchful eye of the mistrustful boss Lionel, Jacko, with brush in hand and a glint in his eye, gets up to all kinds of hilarious escapades.
Brush Strokes made its mark on audiences back in the eighties and is still painting the town red after all these years.
