Dora and the Lost City of Gold now has a second trailer, and it finally does the one thing that no other trailer or picture has done – it explains why Isabela Moner is in the role, as she’s 17, and Dora is about ten years younger: This trailer shows that we’re NOT watching that Dora, we’re watching Dora as she would be when she’s a bit older, and at high school.
So now it makes sense. And as a film, it actually looks entertaining, and funny. And I’m looking forward to it!

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is the name for the Dora The Explorer movie, and it now has a first trailer, and… it’s not terrible, and it could be fun, but it’s far from original. In fact, given the recent Tomb Raider reboot, as well as the recent Jumanji movie, this all feels a little bit late to the party.
It could also be very telling that the Youtube URL ID for this trailer is “cr4Pj7NCwgg”, the first four characters being “cr4p”. Hmm?
Dora and the Lost City of Gold is released in UK cinemas on August 16th.

Dora The Explorer 2019 – New film title and posters
Dora The Explorer is still coming… and now, the title and two posters have been released.
Firstly, the title is the very uninspiring Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and the two posters are below. One says “Explorer is her middle name”, yet surely, it’s “THE”?

Dora The Explorer – The film no-one asked for is actually happening
Dora The Explorer will be on cinema screens this time next year and the character is a 7-year-old Latina girl, and she’s been 7 ever since the show began eighteen years ago, so who better to play her than someone TEN years her senior. Yes, 17-year-old Isabela Moner (below), and today, the first picture of her, in character, has been released.
Last year, in Transformers: The Last Knight, Isabela played a character called Izabella. In May this year, in Sicario 2: Soldado, she was Isabel.
So, in this one, she’ll be Izzy Dora… Nah, I jest.
Going back to Sicario 2, she actually holds her own very well as she’s thrust into the situation, amongst everything that’s going on, whereas in Transformers 5, she started off as the plucky young girl who blew up a robot or two, and then expressed a desire to take them all on and FIGHT… then disappeared for almost an hour, and when she did come back onscreen, she just sat back in a government helicopter and let everyone else get on with the work.
I’d never ever seen an episode of Dora The Explorer – the show on which this new film is based – before now, and just watching a random clip from Nick Jr’s Youtube channel, and with normally-angry bears talking Spanish while getting excited about going for their winter hibernation ‘nap’ – which will be impossible while they’re so hyped up, it sounds like something from Family Guy after they’ve all been dropping acid and are now spinning off their tits!
Hmm… to get the effect of being on drugs without actually taking any and, so, suffering none of the side effects? Might actually be worth considering, then…
Apparently, Dora also has superpowered twin baby siblings, so maybe she will joint the Marvel Cinematic Universe after all?
Dora The Explorer is released in the UK on August 16th 2019 and, below, you can see the first image of Isabela Moner as Dora.
