Music chart summary: w/e July 3rd 2010…
This week, the No.1 went to a rather mediocre track from faux-lesbian bug-eyed annoyance Katy Perry alongside Snoop Dogg, with California Gurls. To my surprise, Kylie’s All The Lovers got nowhere near and actually dropped to No.6and that’s had far more promotion on TV, especially as it featured in an advert, but then I never heard anything aboutthe Katy Perry track before now.
Meanwhile, there are new entries for Eminem’s Love The Way You Lie (No.7), Scissor Sisters’ Fire With Fire(No.11) – whose new album, Night Work, is out now – and the stupidly-named Puff Daddy/Diddy/whatever at No.22 withHello Good Morning. You can see the Scissor Sisters perform their new single on Jonathan Ross’ show, here.
In the album charts, Eminem takes the No.1 slot with his new album, Recovery, displacing Oasis to No.2.
Other new entries include Example‘s Won’t Go Quietly (No.4), Miley Cyrus‘ Can’t Be Tamed(No.8), Ozzy Osbourne‘s Scream (No.12) and Jay-Z‘s Blueprint III (No.32).
The new release dates for singles and albums can be foundHEREand they go up to late-August 2010.
