15 Mint Royale feat Lauren Laverne – Don’t Falter * !!!Second single-of-the-week for the ex-Kenickie member with a new band,bringing her vocal range to more of the excellent same.

3 REM – The Great Beyond * !!!And third single-of-the-week goes to REM for this track from the filmabout Taxi’s Andy Kaufman who is no longer with us and is portrayed byJim Carrey.REM prove that Michael Stipe could sing the phone book’s contents and it wouldstill be interesting, as this song includes something so bizarre as “pushingan elephant up the stairs”.

1 (NEW) Gabrielle – Rise *1st Week at No.1*Dull and lifeless, with a sample of Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on Heaven’s Door”,I never thought this would get in the Top 10, never mind the No.1 slot!
