Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

72 Steps – The Way You Make Me Feel

Earlier this week I asked: “The highest new entry?! At 72, is this an import?”

Thanks to Mike Dixonwho answered my question.

Mike tells me that the single was given to shops early last week in caseit didn’t get there in time and that they were told not to sell it untilMonday this week.

Clearly they didn’t and sold it early, hence the chart entry.

40 (42) Melanie C – If That Were MeA re-entry for the Xmas single from “Beefy Lesbo” Spice, and I’m sure thatvidin@lycos.com will agree with Mark Lamarr’s sentiments on his Xmas NeverMind the Buzzcocks show that when Lamarr was at a Mel C concert, he hadn’tseen so many dungarees since the last Dexy’s Midnight Runners concert.

1 (1) Bob The Builder – Can We Fix It? *3rd Week at No.1*

This TV show is narrated by Neil Morrissey, but what the hell is it doingat the top of the charts? Still, at least it stopped Westlife getting their8th No.1 in a bloody row!
