18. Blondie – MariaBack with a vengeance, or so I thought, were Blondie. I also thought thisrocking hit would put paid to the wilderness years in the early 1990’s afterthe ‘Greatest Hits’ album was released and Debbie Harry resorted to remixes,including the dire 1994 remix of their best ever song, Atomic, the originalof which reminds me of the film “Trainspotting” after its use in that, and her acting” appearance in a crappy PC game.
Maria made No.1 in February last year. However, the follow-up, Nothing is RealBut the Girl only made No.26 in June 1999. Since then we’ve heard nothingso have the reformed Blondie peaked too soon?
