Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…
    34 (49) Spice Girls – Goodbye

And back in they go…again. This Xmas single last jumped back in on w/e 27thMarch at No.37.
Steps nearly did the same with Heartbeat as it climbed from 42to 41.

22 Boney M Vs Horny United – Ma Baker: Somebody Screamed

Sounds a dreadful concept and probably is.

    2 Offspring – Why Don’t You Get A Job?

Here’s one for the lazy unemployed whose only achievement is level 10 on”Super Mario”…

1 Westlife – Swear It Again *2nd Week at No.1*

And yes I’m swearing again as yet another average song goes straight in at No.1,this time being a band who had to change their name before they released theirfirst single – turns out there was already a band called Westside.

Westlife are an Oirish 5-piece boy band. Sounds familiar? Sound like Boyzone? You won’t be surprised to hear that one of their managers is Boyzone’s leadsinger Ronan Keating.

This is the 12th single to go straight in at No.1.

  • 1. Fatboy Slim – Praise You
  • 2. 911 – A Little Bit More
  • 3. Offspring – Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)
  • 4. Armand Van Helden featuring Duane Harden – You Don’t Know Me
  • 5. Blondie – Maria
  • 6. Lenny Kravitz – Fly Away
  • 7. Britney Spears – Baby One More Time
  • 8. Boyzone – When The Going Gets Tough
  • 9. B*witched – Blame It On The Weatherman
  • 10. Mr Oizo – Flat Beat
  • 11. Martine McCutcheon – Perfect Moment
  • 12. Westlife – Swear It Again

    Dominator’s Top 50 of 1998

    19. David Morales presents The Face – Needin’ U

Making No.8 in August last year, this dance tune was one I really couldn’tcare for at first, until one night when I heard it late on Sky One’s Longplaywhich plays overnight most nights and reminds me of the Chart Show in thatit has lots of music but no presenters.

    The end bit :

Well, that’s it for now. If you want to be added to the WidescreenVideo and Laserdisc lists, just mail me atCharts Request to tell me.

    Bye for now,

    Dominator
