New entries from No.41-75 :
This is further proof that Peter Kay’s totally run out of ideas, even if youhadn’t quite worked that out by the way he just re-releases the same old DVDswith different covers or in different locations.
Hardly anyone he’s worked with in the past will work with him now since hetook all the credit for Phoenix Nights when it’s clear from his subsequent outputthat Neil Fitzmaurice and Dave Spikey wrote all the funny lines.
Max & Paddy was lacklustre and his ‘Pop Factor’ programme was a spoof of a showthat already spoofs itself in the way it acts, and that just isn’t funny, it’sjust lame – if you want further proof of that, just look at Brian Conley’s”Septic Peg” which was a spoof of Mystic Meg which was already a spoof offortune tellers.
Further yawnsome toss comes in the form of a Xmas single which, for some reason,Gary Barlow is proud to be the songwriter.

[Out of Control]
Is it just me or is every subsequent Girls Aloud single getting even more tedious than the last one? This one just drifts through insleepwalking mode and the last one, The Promise, didn’t even have any kind of hook with the alleged melody going all over the place.
[Viva La Vida…]
Yaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn! What a bunch of pompous, stuck-up arseholes!
[Chasing Lights]
Ah, The Saturdays. Good to look at, and they were on Something for the Weekend recently. Watch here:

Charity single featuring the X-Factor people. Great cause, crap song.

[One of the Boys]
“Oh, look, I’m pretending to be a lesbian”. Bollocks.

Infinity 2008
Although the 80s is my decade of great music, I was at Uni from 1990-93, and in the first year the original track of this was out and about all over the place and it was fantastic. Great to hear a remixed version!
1990 was, most definitely, time for the Guru. Now 2008 should be as well but too often there’s some stupid lyrics being spoken here which breaks theflow of the track which was only ever meant to be an instrumental!

[Funhouse]
So what, indeed?
[Out of Control]
Where’s the hook in this song? It’s as bad as Will Young’s “Changes” in that it just goes all over the place.

Sex On Fire
[Only By the Night]
Great band. Not a bad track, either and great to see them at the top slot.Certainly more deserved than most things that get there.
[The Circus]
Having been used on a yawnsome advert, this track is so tedious beyond belief Ican’t work out how it ever got made.
[Day and Age]
Sometimes The Killers’ music can be a bit samey, and this comes across as rather a carbon copy of ‘Read My Mind’ but it’salways listenable so this is worth hearing, but not Top 5 material.
[I Am Sasha Fierce]
I’m never a fan of her music and this won’t change anything.
[Spirit]
A cover version of the fantastic Snow Patrol track, but here Leona starts offtedious and then throws her voice around like Mariah Carey throwing a strop.Avoid.
[The Album]
With the better versions of this track, Jeff Buckley (No.2) and Leonard Cohen(No.38) also doing the rounds, this utter dirge has made the top slot for theX-Factor yet again, so Simon Cowell’s right and we’re wrong, but what’s new?
Listen to the best version below, from Mr Cohen. All those singers behind himremind me of the opening of the Muppet Show! 🙂
