Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

45 Paul McCartney – From a Lover to a FriendNow pulled after its first week of release so he can stick it on the backof a tribute to the New York victims from Sept 11th called “Freedom”.

33 (19) Part-T-One v INXSWhat the hell has this got to do with INXS?

28 Ricky Tomlinson – Are You Lookin’ At Me :O ===I love the Royle Family but Ricky should’ve drawn the line before thisas it’s terrible and sounds like an Irish Jig too far.

24 Slipknot – Left Behind *Loud, proud and incomprehensible, but excellent.

19 Andrew WK – Party Hard *The 80s mullet is back and another energetic MTV2 track should be given alisten.

18 Limp Bizkit – Boiler *A bizarre video but another superb tune that deserved a Top 10 place butI suspect hasn’t had much airplay.

14 Corrs – Would You Be HappierOnly if they stopped making records.

5 Dandy Warhols – Bohemian Like You * !!!Finally! It took being used at the soundtrack to an advert to get it therecognition it deserved, but it’s a stonking rock track that commands yourattention.

1 Afroman: Because I Got High *3rd Week at No.1*

A simple tune about a man who fails to do all manner of tasks plannedthat day because he smoked something and got high. A very entertaining song.

  • 2. Shaggy feat. Rayvon – Angel
  • 3. Moulin Rouge – Lady Marmalade

Dominator’s Top 50 of 2000

45. Soulwax – Too Many DJsMaking only No.40 in September last year, this was still the biggest hitfor the band following “Much Against Everyone’s Advice” (No.56, June 2000)and “Conversation Intercom” (No.65, March 2000), at the time I didn’t likethis one as much but I do now and still occasionally gets MTV2 airplay.Review copyright © Dominic Robinson, 2001.
