Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

11 Moby – We Are All Made of Stars *A classic Moby tune that hasn’t been turned into an advert’s backing track(YET!), and one that sounds very 80s.

1 Holly Valance – Kiss Kiss *1st Week at No.1*

Flick Scully from Neighbours does the Turkish tune once used as a trailerfor “So Graham Norton”. It’s okay, but I prefer Steph. However, it looks likeHolly could be the new Kylie.

This is the 9th single in a row to go straight in at No.1 :

  • 1. Aaliyah – More Than a Woman
  • 2. George Harrison – My Sweet Lord (R)
  • 3. Enrique Iglesias – Hero
  • 4. Westlife – World of Our Own
  • 5. Will Young – Anything is Possible/Evergreen
  • 6. Gareth Gates – Unchained Melody
  • 7. Oasis – The Hindu Times
  • 8. Sugababes – Freak Like Me
  • 9. Holly Valance – Kiss Kiss

Dominator’s Top 50 of 2001After last week’s look back at all the Top 50 tracks of last year, this week sees the list of my Top 50 of 2001. From next week I shallbegin my look back at them.

19. Dandy Warhols – Bohemian Like YouA fantastically-upbeat track which only made No.42 when first released inSept 2000, and featured in last year’s Top 50 of 2000, but upon its re-releaseto a mobile phone advert it reached the dizzy heights of No.5 before crashingout again.

Maybe their time is coming, eventually?
