Okay, but far from groundbreaking.
The Singles 1992-2003
This is an odd one. “It’s My Life” was released just before Xmas where itonly made No.20, and their ‘best of’ album didn’t do stunningly well, so forsome reason the record company have re-released the same track with anotherone credited to it and it’s done a bit better in the charts, only three monthsafter the first release. Can’t fathom that one out.
They claim they might not perform this one live on tour as it’s difficultto sing, but perhaps they should drop it because it’s a rather lacklustreeffort with no energy at all that we’re used to?
It’s been 8 years since his last studio album, and Patience isfinally released next week. He claims it may be his last ever now thathe’s turned 40.
I hope not, because while this track isn’t as striking asPraying for Time, the first single from his – for me – best soloalbum to date, 1990’s Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1, it stillmarks a return to form after the so-so and OTT Freeek! and the”What the hell was he thinking?” mess that was Shoot the Dog.
The media fussed because of a supposed lesbian kiss, but I’d be moreinclined to fuss about it being a bit of a dull pop song, and she nevereven bothered to sing live on Top of the Pops!
