Dominator’s Top 50 of 1999
15. Britney Spears – Baby One More Time
Another week, another No.1 and most people will have bought this on thestrength of the promo video which features the 17-year-old popster in a schooluniform, which she gave away as a competition prize on ITV’s CD:UK at the time.
She made her TV debut on the Disney Club at the age of 11, but it’s onlylast February when she came to the fore with this single which had a veryinteresting video. 🙂
It was followed by two tracks that weren’t as good: Sometimes (No.3, June 99)and (You Drive Me) Crazy (No.5, Oct 99) and another No.1 with Born To Make YouHappy this year.
Britney’s the new Debbie Gibson, although the latter actually wrote her own songs.
The end bit :
Well, that’s it for now. If you want to be added to the WidescreenVideo and Laserdisc lists, just mail me.
Bye for now,
