Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

9 Jason Nevins & Holly James – I’m In HeavenNot so much a sped-up cover of The Jacksons’ “Right Here”, but more anextended chorus with no verse. Can you spot one??

4 Mark Owen – Four Minute WarningSince winning Celeb Big Brother last year, he’s taken far too long to bringthis one to the charts that I’m surprised the typical buyers were stillinterested. His pursuit of career has also caused the break up of his2-year relationship.

So, is it any good? Yes, to a degree since it’s good but it’s way toorepetitive. What is worthy of it is that at times, early on in particular,he exhibits a tone in his voice which is surprisingly reminiscent ofMatt Johnson (The The), so if the chart career doesn’t work out, howsaboutsomething similarly downbeat? I think it would suit Mr Owen’s voice quite well.

3 Cheeky Girls – Hooray Hooray (It’s a Cheeky Holiday)A cover of the Boney M song. Don’t expect any longevity out of this track, but you can’t blame them for wanting to make a quick buck.

1 (1) Blu Cantrell – Breathe *2nd Week at No.1*

Another dull dance track at the top.

This is the 42nd single in a row to go straight into the Top 40 at No.1 :

  • 1. Aaliyah – More Than a Woman
  • 2. George Harrison – My Sweet Lord (R)
  • 3. Enrique Iglesias – Hero

  • 10. Ronan Keating – If Tomorrow Never Comes
