Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

Shaznay Lewis:
Never Felt Like This Before
[Open]

8 Shaznay Lewis – Never Felt Like This Before

It’s been three years since All Saints split up. The Appleton sisters didn’t have much in the wayof success, hoping a BBC3 documentary would wing it for them (nope!), while Mel Blatt has had a coupleof mediocre singles but nothing to write home about.

So, the apparent songwriter of the group gets her chance, and it’s just as pedestrian and dull asanything else the others put out on their own.

Why didn’t they just stay together and consolidate the pain into one easy-to-manage and easily-ignoredsingle?

Nina Sky: Move Ya Body
[Nina Sky]

6 Nina Sky – Move Ya Body

Apparently this is a “follow-up reply” to Mario Winans’ whiny song. But like Frankeeeee and Eamon, who gives a fuck?

Will Young: Friday’s Child
[Friday’s Child]

4 Will Young – Friday’s Child

Either I’m going soft, or after the more-miss-than-hit style of “Your Game”, this slow trackreally does hit the right spot in terms of style and presentation.

And, according to the man himself, no that’s not his six-pack in the opening of the video. It was”shaded in”.

Usher: Burn
[Confessions]

1 Usher – Burn *2nd Week at No.1*

Pass.

This is the 8th new single to go straight in at No.1 in a row:

  • 1. Usher – Yeah!
  • 2. McFly – Five Colours in Her Hair
  • 3. Eamon – Fuck It
  • 4. Frankee – FURB (Fuck You Right Back)
  • 5. Mario Winans – I Don’t Wanna Know
  • 6. Britney Spears – Everytime
  • 7. McFly – Obviously
  • 8. Usher – Burn
