Music chart summary: w/e July 17th 2010…
This week, the No.1 went to JLS who trill that The Club is Alive with the sound of music. Well, their auto-tunednonsense is hardly music, and it displaces Katy Perry to No.2.
Meanwhile, there are new entries for Yolanda Be Cool & Dcup’s We No Speak Americano (No.5), 3OH!3 Feat. Ke$ha – My First Kiss(No.7), Eliza Doolittle – Pack Up (No.12), Kelis – 4th July (No.32) and ex-Blue nobody Lee Ryan fails to securea comeback with I Am Who I Am, stalling at No.33. Perhaps he’s still being haunted by Blue’s failure to crack theStates when he bungled by saying, “Who gives a fuck about 9/11 when there are whales dying?”
Special mention goes to the campaign to get the late Chris Sievey, aka Frank Sidebottom, to No.1 with his track,Guess Who’s Been On Match Of The Day?, as it made No.66. RIP Mr Sidebottom.
In the album charts, Kylie Minogue takes the No.1 slot with her new album, Aphrodite, displacing Eminemto No.2.
The only other new entries come from Enrique Iglesias – Euphoria (No.6), Feeder – Renegades (No.16), Rock Choir –Rock Choir Vol 1 (No.19), I Am Kloot – Sky At Night (No.24), Cherry Ghost – Beneath This Burning Shoreline (No.40)and Craig Ogden – The Guitarist (No.60).
The new release dates for singles and albums can be foundHEREand they go up to mid-September 2010.
