Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

61 Midfield General feat. Linda Lewis – Reach OutWeird track that hasn’t had much airplay, with vocals sounding likethey’re coming out of a tinny radio.

58 Heather Small – Holding OnYES! She’s a flop!

54 Gitta – No More Turning BackSo she’s finally left Sanjay then?

37 Lit – Over My Head *A good rocking tune that gets plenty of MTV2 airplay.

16 Red Hot Chili Peppers – Californication *A more sombre effort from the band, but it’s had masses of airplay onMTV2 and features a cool video game-styled promo, aping many games includingCrazy Taxi.

5 Janet Jackson – Doesn’t Really Matter :O ===Bloody plinkety-plonk music with Janet smiling inanely and dangerouslythroughout. Watch out Janet! If the wind changes your face will stay likethat. Look at your brother!

1 Mel C – I Turn To You * !!! *1st Week at No.1*Terrible in its slow form, but the dance mix is blisteringly brilliant.Quite possibly one of the few dance tracks that can make you feel like you’reback in the club when you’re really driving to work.

    Dominator’s Top 50 of 1999

    33. Manic Street Preachers – You Stole The Sun From My HeartOne of the two singles released by the Manics last year, this was the third single from the “..Truth” album and like most Manicstracks it’s better than most things on the chart, but in comparison withtheir other singles this is the “Australia” from the album – okay but nowherenear as good as their best.

It made No.5 in March 1999 and as followed by “Tsunami” (No.11, July 99).

    The end bit :

Well, that’s it for now. If you want to be added to the WidescreenVideo and Laserdisc lists, just mail me.

    Bye for now,

    Dominator
