Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

21 Ash – SometimesAfter the okay “Shining Light”, and the excellent “Burn Baby Burn”,comes a dull track that never gets going and doesn’t know what its directionis. Why did they bother?

18 Avalanches – Frontier PsychiatristNot sure about this track. It’s a weird dancey one with two scientist typessaying one after the other “Psychosamatic” and “That boy needs therapy”.

16 Texas – I Don’t Want a LoverA dreadful and pointless remix of their first single. Well, I call it a”remix”, but it’s the same track with its heart stripped out and replaced bya relentless drumbeat.

It sounds bloody awful and they should be ashamed of themselves.

14 Super Furry Animals – Juxtapozed with U *Quite a bizarre choice for the band this track since it sounds far moresoul/bluesy than I’d expect them to come out with.

2 D12 & Eminem – Purple Pills :O ===Yes, it’s “pills”, not “Purple Hills” as the song has been doctored to forTV and radio broadcast making it even more pointless to listen to.

1 Robbie Williams – Eternity / The Road to Mandalay *1st Week at No.1*

The Road to Mandalay is the only track I liked from his current album, but it’s far from No.1 material.

I’m just looking forward to later this year when he claims he’s going to”kill off Robbie”, ie. ditch his fake persona and go back to being normal.

This is the 6th single in a row to go straight in at No.1 :

  • 1. DJ Pied Piper – Do You Really Like It
  • 2. Shaggy feat. Rayvon – Angel
  • 3. Moulin Rouge – Lady Marmalade
  • 4. Hear’Say – The Way To Your Love
  • 5. Roger Sanchez – Another Chance
  • 6. Robbie Williams – Eternity / The Road to Mandalay
