    Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

    31 Sting – After the Rain Has FallenThird single from his “Brand New Day” album, but this is a really dulleffort and the promo has a “Lionel Richie: Dancing on the Ceiling” feelto it.

    8 Sash! & Tina Cousins – Just Around the HillSash does a slow song. Combining it with Tina Cousins’ voice, this is anengaging tune and it’s a shame her singles don’t sell on their own.

    7 Jessica Simpson – I Wanna Love You Forever :O ==A Britney clone with a Mariah voice, this song is bland in the extreme.

    3 Sisqo – Thong Song :O ===A new entrant to the charts, Sisqo is a black guy with a blonde hairdoand the song is crap.

    1 Fragma – Toca’s Miracle :O === *1st Week at No.1*In November 1997 a band called Coco released a dance track which made scantimpression on the charts (a mere No.39), but was one which received a fair bitof airplay after it fell out of the chart.

    As I wrote in May 1998 when it got a mention as one of my Top 50 singles of1997, I noted that “In these days of dance tracks being endlessly rereleasedI hope this one comes out again soon…as long as they leave it as it is though.”

    The good news is that this is the same track. The bad news is that it’s beenremixed to the point where the background music that made it special has beenremoved and now replaced with something that completely goes against the grain.A perfect example of turning good to shit.

    This single is the 13th in a row to go straight in at No.1.
