Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

56 Tony De Vit – DawnThought he was dead?!

51 Aaron Carter – Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)Obviously no-one will after he was booed off stage a couple of weeks ago.

While supporting the 18-year-old supposed “virgin”, he was singing,”I want candy” and the crowd chanted, “We want Britney!”, so he left anddidn’t come back for the next night’s gig either.

38 Idlewild – Roseability * !!!Another single, another release criminally ignored by all the media, butanother bloody good rock track.

21 (10) Madison AvenueSo that stilted, out-of-breath performance on Top of the Pops last weekreally helped then (?)

17 Moby – Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad *Re-released a year and a week after it first made No.16, so why did theybother? Moby’s already the biggest-selling artist of the year and no otheralbum around has had EVERY track used as either a single or marketed inadverts and jingles.

10 Blur – Music is my RadarNot sure what I think of this one yet as I’ve only heard it once andit was very weird.

9 Fatboy Slim – Sunset (Bird of Prey)Apparently this features dead Jim Morrison’s voice on vocals, but whileI liked the Doors’ music, this idea stinks. Haven’t heard it though and Idon’t really want to.

7 (3) All Saints – Black CoffeeI do like this single, but there’s one thing I hate and that’s hearingwhat’s called “Intro Imaging” (thanks to Tom Hawley) for the official term.

Basically, the artist/group will record personalised intros for the radiostation on which they’re being played and they’ll be blended into the songat the start. If you don’t recognise the idea, then when you hear them you’llknow, but on Friday I heard something even worse when having the unfortunatedispleasure of listening to Key 103 in someone else’s car.

To the strains of this single, the name ‘Key 103’ was muttered in the sameway that the girls do during the song, not only at the start but halfwaythrough when they’re normally babbling about black coffee. Bleah!

5 Samantha Mumba – Body II Body :O ===She deserves to be roasted over hot coals for destroying David Bowie’s”Ashes to Ashes” like this.

2 (14) Baha Men – Who Let the Dogs Out :O ===Climbers like this are now relatively unheard of, but they’re bound tocome up again for shite like this.

1 Steps – Stomp *1st Week at No.1*

or rather Chic’s “Everybody Dance”. Avoid.

This single is the 35th in a row to go straight in at No.1, which sets anew record.
