Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…
38 Morcheeba – Part Of The Process * !!!No.32 in my Top 50 of 1997 was Morcheeba‘s “The Music That We Hear (MoogIsland)” which made No.47 last February. Their only Top 40 hit to date was”Trigger Hippie” which made No.40 in October 1996.
Now, the moment I thought would not happen again has happened. However,this ballad-like tune deserves to be at least 30 places higher up the chart.
3 The Corrs – What Can I Do (remix) :O ===The original version of this track made No.53 in March this year. After that,they released “Dreams” which became a massive hit, so now this top tune getsa worthy re-release.
But…, and this is a big but, the sound of the original with all its “do do do”backing was part of the original’s charm. This has been replaced with a dull,lifeless drumbeat and made still-born the song’s attraction.
The Corrs are doing what Everything But The Girl did. It may have brought themmore hits, but it’s still selling out. Boo!
1 (1) Boyzone – No Matter What :O === *3rd Week at No.1*No matter what Boyzone seem to release it goes straight in at No.1 these days.Sometimes it’s not too bad, sometimes it really sucks and this one falls intothe latter category.
My girlfriend loves it but this twee ballad sung in a goody-goody style bymore than one member of the band just grates like hell!

This was the second single release from Macca’s “Flaming Pie” album andmade No.23 in July last year. Like the first single, “Young Boy” (No.19, May97), it’s a catchy tune, but in the current chart climate, neither were likethe progress any further and both dropped out the following week…
…as did “Beautiful Night” (No.25, Dec 97) which arrived in the last weekof the year, so too late to enter into the Top 50 of the year, so may wellshow up next year.
Both “The World Tonight” and “Young Boy” featured in the film “Father’s Day”,starring Robin Williams and Billy Crystal.
