5 Busta Rhymes – Gimme Some MoreNone of Busta’s singles are worth a listen, although Never Mind TheBuzzcocks rendition of his Knight Rider theme probably had more to saywhen they interpreted the first line as “I did a freak shit”.
2 Terrorvision – Tequila :O ===What the hell is that !?? I’ve finally heard it after the discussion onrec.music.misc. I was expecting a version of the old “Tequila” song, butobviously not. It doesn’t even have any catchy entertainment value. Soundslike a drunk singing along with the St. Winifred’s School Choir, which probablyisn’t far off the mark looking at the lead singer on ITV a week last Saturday.
This song is shit with a capital S. Perhaps the record shops should have asign marked “SOLD OUT” which they’ll put next to artists records in certaincircumstances. They’ll still have copies left for sale, but the artist willstill have “SOLD OUT” in a bid to get a hit. Just see what mindless bilgeThe Corrs have turned into since they did the same.

Catatonia – Road RageTheir third single from last year, another Top 10 hit (No.5, May 98) provedthat they’re no flash in the pan and that Catatonia are holding their ownafter the big hit “Mulder and Scully” (No.3, Jan 98) and their collaborationwith Space, “The Ballad of Tom Jones” (another of my Top 50 of 1998).
“Road Rage” featured a Fifth Element-style cityscape in the video, and wasone of the most critically-acclaimed singles of 1998. It was followed inAugust with the ballad (not of Tom Jones), “Strange Glue”, making No.11.
