Icon Home Entertainment is pleased to announce the long-awaited UK DVD and Blu-ray release of the fast paced, edgy horrorfilm Splinter on Monday 30th March 09.
The award winning, British horror director Toby Wilkins delivers a slick, gory masterpiece as Shea Whigham (Tigerland, BadCompany), Paulo Costanzo (Road Trip, 40 Days and 40 Nights) and Jill Wagner (Stargate: Atlantis, Punk’d) are brought togetherin a terrifying story of fear and survival against one of the greatest monsters the genre has ever witnessed – a voraciousand splinter ridden parasite that transforms its still-living victims into deadly hosts.
In the tradition of ‘The Blair Witch Project’ before it, Splinter has captured the imagination of not only horror enthusiasts, but ofa much wider audience, looking certain to take the UK scare market by storm. Splinter is an exhilarating ride of jolts and screams, a perfectlyshot, awesomely acted throw back to the classic creature features of the early ’70s and ’80s with a very modern twist.
After receiving massive praise alongside its US release in the American press, Horror magazine Fangoria calls Splinter Oneof the year’s best independent horror films” whilst the film was deemed Spectacularly Unnerving by the New York Magazine.
The DVD is released on March 9th 2009, it runs for 79 mins and retails for £15.99 on DVD,but is currently on Amazon at the link above for £9.98.A Blu-ray version is also available with a retail price of £24.99.
