DVDfever.co.uk – Gentlemen Broncos on DVD
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment
Posted: April 16th, 2010.
From the twisted yet brilliant mind that brought you Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre (Director Jared Hess) and featuring Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Concords), Gentlemen Broncos is a quirky coming of age film that must be seen to be believed when it is released on DVD on 3rd May from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Homeschooled Benjamin Purvis (Michael Angarano (24, Will & Grace), is an introverted sci-fi afficianado and geek who escapes his hum-drum small town existance through writing Yeast Lords: The Bronco Years; a novella in the style of his hero, the legendary sci-fi author Dr Ronald Chevalier (Clement).
Benjamin gets a once in lifetime chance to share his creation with Chevalier at the Cletus Fest, a writers festival in Utah, where, in a desperate attempt to relaunch his own career, Chevalier takes more than a little inspiration from Yeast Lords for his new novel The Chonicles of Brutus and Balzaak.
The explotation doesnt stop there, however, as poor Benjamin also meets aspiring writer and director duo Tabatha (Halley Feiffer, Flight of the Concords) and Lonnie (Hector Jimenez, Nacho Libre), who decide to adapt Yeast Lords for the big screen and turn it into a lower-than-low budget film…
Starring an amazing ensemble cast including Jennifer Coolidge (Joey, Nick/Tuck) as Bens eccentric mother, and Sam Rockwell (Moon) as Bronco/ Brutus, Gentlemen Broncos is a must for anyone who likes their comedy bizarre, and their science-fiction retro.
Special Features:
- Deleted scenes x 5
- Outtakes reel: A Buttload of Keepsakes
- One Nutty Movie: Behind the Scenes of Gentlemen Broncos
The DVD is released on May 10th, it runs for 89 mins and is available for £15.99.
