Two decades after its release in 1982, Tron today holds the coveted title of acult classic in both science fiction and gaming circles. The sci-fi featurefilm was the first to mix computer-generated imagery with live action and inturn went on to spawn highly successful arcade and home video games of its own.
Twenty years on, Buena Vista Interactive is reviving the heroic securityprogram with the launch of a revolutionary sequel. Tron 2.0 brings the cultclassic to PC CD-Rom for the first time, exploiting the platform’stechnologies through explosive graphics, hours of in-depth gameplay and astory that will engage fans of the film and newcomers alike.
The game is developed by award-winning Monolith Productions, one of the mostrespected names in worldwide computer game development (previous games includeNo One Lives Forever & Aliens Vs Predator 2) and Syd Mead, the world famousconcept designer of the original TRON film, who has helped design the game.Additionally, the game will be powered by Monolith subsidiary LithTech’snewest technology base, the Triton System.
Tron 2.0 also reunites the talent from TRON©, the groundbreaking sciencefiction motion picture. Bruce Boxleiter is voicing the character he createdin the movie, Alan Bradley, while Cindy Morgan, who stared as Lora in thefilm, is portraying Ma3a (mah-THREE-ah), an artificial intelligence program. Steven Lisberger, director, story and screenplay writer, and Richard Taylor,visual and computer effects supervisor, are participating in the project.

Also lending their talent to TRON 2.0 is Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. Thestar of X-Men 2 is providing the voice of Mercury, the undefeated championlight cycle racer who teams up with lead character Jet Bradley to combatcorruption in the computer world.
Boasting stunning graphics and a multitude of new locations, characters andweapons, Tron 2.0 takes up the story 20 years after the end of the film. Twocomputer experts Flynn and Alan Bradley had been digitised in to a computerworld, from which they eventually escaped following the destruction of theMaster Control Program. Now, twenty years on, Alan Bradley mysteriously disappearsagain after refusing to provide sensitive information to fCon agents, theperpetrators of the original devastation. His son Jet becomes the new hero,stepping into today’s vastly upgraded and therefore even more deadly digitalworld. There, he uncovers a sinister plot spinning out of control thatthreatens to corrupt one reality and forever transform another. Jet mustovercome the otherworldly adversaries encountered in this strange butfantastic world to not only save the life of his father, but also his own.
