Comparisons will immediately be made with Icelandic experimentalists Sigur Ros, but that’s no bad thing. This meandering and enigmatically titled track is exquisite, though more of an album track than an out-and-out radio-friendly single.

Unlike anything by Sigur Ros, the Leeds post-rock quintet, Vessels have added a massive blast for the gradually rising crescendo. Also, the use of Stuart Warwick’s divine dulcet tones is a masterstroke resembling the downbeat and melancholic musings of say Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.

Any comparisons with the PR blurb’s reference to Led Zeppelin’s No Quarter are absurd. The album Helios is due for release in early 2010.

    The verdict: Sumptuous.
