With the festive season rapidly approaching, what better way to celebrate with Universals Pop Party 7.
Full of banging tunes its guaranteed to make any party swing, whatever your tastes.
Pop divo Mika gets things moving with latest hit and first single We Are Golden from his new album The Boy Who Knew Too Much. Featuring a gospel and kids choir, it made its UK radio debut on 20 July on BBC Radio 2, guaranteeing instant success on its download availability on September 6 and CD on September 7.New babes on the block The Saturdays roll out Forever Is Over from hit album Wordshaker. It came out on October 5, and this week, commencing 2 November, its slipped from 14 to 23 on the singles chart, not having the same pop quality as If This Is Love .
Teen sensation, 18 year-old Pixie Lott can put a foot wrong. Raucous Boys And Girls, follow-up to this summers debut hit Mama Do, is already a club/party favourite, hovering at 32 after nine weeks on chart.Six-pack Danish popsters Alphabeat have a massive European following with many hits on the mainland like Fascination. The Spell, just made 20, but has dropped ten places this week. Look out for album The Spell now re-arranged for release in the new year. Still, its Euro-Pop at its best with a great singer in Anders SG.
Sugababes Get Sexy did well, despite being their worst single, ever. Its now out of the Top 40.
One of the best songs this year, I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas, is still knocking around at number 10, down from 7 last week, after an astonishing 21 weeks on chart.Club fodder Evacuate The Dancefloor doesnt do what it says on the tin, thankfully. This stomping track has more sophistication than German Euro-dance Cascada , featuring Natalie Horler, have displayed before , sure to keep you groovin.
Swedish pop star Agnes (Emilia Carlsson) also hits the Euro-beats with the stunning Release Me while Lady Ga Ga had one of the biggest hits of 2009 with electro-pop classic Poker Face containing its robotic hook.Pussy Cat Dollss ballad Hush Hush is daft addition, though BA graduate Kwasi Danquah aka Tinchy Stryders Number 1 from debut album Rokstarr, is an obvious floor-filler. Its been seven weeks on chart, dropping six places to 12 this week.
Now six years together, Girls Alouds The Loving Kind from 2008 album Out Of Control, has enough beats per minute but its a weak song, though Danish dance pop group Aqua shake off the horrors of Barbie Girl with a half decent Back To The 80s. Its their first single in eight years.Swedish fusion /pop/alternative musician Tommy Sparks released Shes Got Me Dancing this May. Its cool groove has seen it used on Play Station 3 game EyePet, EA Sports video game FIFA 10 and iPods Touch promotions.
The verdict Party on!

Elly Roberts passed away in 2011, but he was a man who was so passionate about all types of music and loved meeting his musical heroes, such as Mick Hucknall at a book signing at the Trafford Centre, Manchester in 2007.
A former teacher and also a music journalist, DJ and radio presenter on local community station Calon FM, plus appearances on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio 2, Elly started doing reviews for DVDfever.co.uk in 2004 and he did the majority of the CD and concerts reviews on the website.
I know also that he loved getting away for the summer to Spain and I hope that wherever he is now he is enjoying the hot sunshine and, as one of his friends has said on his Facebook page, that he is interviewing his musical heroes.
