The ultimate carnival party for families comes home on 24 October 2011 when Rio is released on Blu-ray and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Following its big screen success Rio on Blu-ray and DVD features more songs, dancing, and fun as well as a free download of 15 all-new exclusive, levels of “Angry Birds RIO.” The scope and grandeur of this colorful animated feature can also be experienced in 3D at home – only on BD.

From the creators of Ice Age, Rio is a personal journey for filmmaker Carlos Saldanha. Set amidst a colorful jungle, a beach paradise, a sprawling metropolis and the celebration to end all celebrations, known as Carnival – Rio represents Saldanha’s vision of his magical hometown Rio de Janeiro.

Families will flock to the Blu-ray of this high-flying animated comedy that follows the grand adventure of two exotic macaws — Blu and Jewel — whose journey plays out through the color, music, and emotion of Rio. With an extensive selection of special features worthy of a Carnival-style celebration the Blu-ray, guided by Blu himself, leads viewers inside the world of Rio on film as well as the actual city. Go behind the sounds of Rio with music legends Sergio Mendes and Will.i.am; dance the samba alongside the film’s characters; get to know the amazing landmarks highlighted in the film; and explore the city of Rio de Janeiro with Carlos Saldanha.
