Steep is a massive openworld set in the alps where, for the first time ever, you can dominate the world’s most epic mountains on skis, base-jump in a wingsuit, go down on snowboard, or go paragliding.
With its incredibly beautiful graphics, it was like SSX with brass knobs on, and also comes complete with the Mont Engine, allowing you to zoom out from your position, examine the world, and find dropzones – drop anywhere you want in the arena.
There are challenges such as base jumping in the proximity race challenge; replays – rewind, pause, control the camera, go slomo, and follow any players you’ve met; share crashes and videos, and create challenges for others.
It looks like an immense experience and one that would be incredible in a VR helmet!
You can register online to play the beta at steepgame.com.
Steep is released in December on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
