The Kid is not a remake of the decent Bruce Willis time-travel-based movie from 2000 which most people have forgotten about, but a new take on the Billy The Kid story, and one which looks as gritty as the original Young Guns did, back in 1988, while the sequel was a bit more comical and toned-down with the violence.
As Billy The Kid (the always superb Dane DeHaan) meets up with Sheriff Pat Garrett (Ethan Hawke), we see how things transpired between them.
It’s also just the second movie directed by Vincent D’Onofrio (Jurassic World, Full Metal Jacket) whose 2010 movie Don’t Go in the Woods didn’t do too well, only getting 2.7/10 on IMDB. But this looks a decent movie.
The Kid is out in the US on March 8th, but hasn’t yet got a UK release date.
Writer: Andrew Lanham
Also stars: Chris Pratt, Vincent D’Onofrio, Leila George, Adam Baldwin, Keith Jardine
