UK Top 100 Music chart summary w/e September 17th 2011

Going straight in at No.1 this week is Pixie Lott with All About Tonight, and it’s such dull dance tripe that it feels like it does indeed go on all night. Appalling.

You can see the video here.

As such, Example drops to No.5 with Stay Awake, and it’s a pretty smart dance track, too, just like their last top slot hit, The Way You Love Me. I hate most of what tops the charts these days, but the majority of those could take a tip or two from Example.

Meanwhile, there are new entries in the Top 40 for:

  • 3 The Saturdays – All Fired Up
  • 4 Leona Lewis & Avicii – Collide
  • 11 Snow Patrol – Called Out In The Dark
  • 33 Ms Dynamite – Neva Soft
Lower entries outside the Top 40 include:
  • 59 Delilah – Go
  • 61 Joe Goddard feat. Valentina – Gabriel
  • 71 Beyonce – 1+1
  • 74 Ben Howard – Keep Your Head Up
  • 82 Example & Skream – Shot Yourself In The Foot Again
  • 95 Melanie C – Think About It
In the album charts, Example went straight in at No.1 with Playing In The Shadows,
knocking Red Hot Chili Peppers down to No.7. The remaining new entries come from:
  • 1 Example – Playing In The Shadows
  • 6 The Beatles – 1 (Remastered)
  • 9 Doris Day – My Heart
  • 12 John Barrowman – Tonight’s The Night: The Very Best Of
