Under The Lake is the third episode in the new series of Doctor Who Series 9, and with The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) telling Clara (Jenna Coleman) to be careful what she wishes for after she tells him she wants another adventure with monsters, and things blowing up. And so he gives her an unknown homicidal force, under water, and in a nuclear reactor! It’s set in 2150 but will eventually take them back into the past…
But he’s still got sunglasses instead of a sonic screwdriver…

Under The Lake is written by Toby Whithouse (A Town Called Mercy, and a contributor to The Magician’s Apprentice) and directed by Daniel O’Hara (episodes 4-6 of The Game). The cast includes Morven Christie (Hunted), Paul Kaye (everything from Dennis Pennis to The Interceptor), plus Arsher Ali, Neil Fingleton, Zaqi Ismail, Sophie Leigh Stone, Colin McFarlane, Steven Robertson and Corey Taylor.
Under The Lake is broadcast tomorrow night on BBC1 at 8.25pm, rather later than usual.
