Girls Trip looks like one to miss, a film centred around four lifelong friends who travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival (whatever that is). We’re told sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there’s enough dancing, drinking, brawling, and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.
Well, I neither blushed while watching this trailer, nor was I grossed out… I was just bored. Okay, there were some minor chuckles, but nothing to make me think there’d be any more to fill the running time.
And I thought Jada Pinkett Smith had split up from Will Smith? Is that not the case? I don’t really care, but it’s probably the only thing that might be interesting about this film.
Girls Trip is released in the UK on July 28th.
