AXL seemed like a good idea when I first heard about this.
With a brief premise of how the life of a teenage boy is forever altered by a chance encounter with cutting edge military technology, this sounds like Short Circuit, and while I never got round to seeing Chappie, from all the trailers and clips I saw, it looks like that’s also had an influence.
As you watch this trailer, it’s a typical case of “boy with robot meets girl” – the girl being 2017’s Power Rangers‘ Becky G, but it quickly fell down a hole around halfway through when some teen pop music burst out. Ugh!
