Bill Turnbull (right), yesterday, accidentally swore on BBC Breakfast, dropping the C-Bomb just before 8.30am, although the only C-word I know is “Crikey!”
Both he and co-presenter Naga Munchetty let it pass, professional-like, but he did drop a bit of a bollock.
It’s not the first time the word has been heard on the BBC accidentally. Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt, the Culture Secretary back in 2010, was accidentally called “Jeremy C**t” by James Naughtie on the Today programme and then had a ‘coughing fit’. Andrew Marr made the same gaffe on his programme the following Sunday.
As for Bill Turnbull, he explained it away later on Twitter as ‘customers’….
Memo to self: never confuse 'customers' with 'clients' on air. It's just asking for trouble…
