Dear Eleanor centres around two teenage girls – Ellie Potter (Liana Liberato) with Isabelle Fuhrman as the oddly-named Max the Wax – who travel across the US in 1962, during the chaos of the Cuban missile crisis, searching for Eleanor Roosevelt.
And from the way this dull trailer pans out, I don’t care a jot if they locate her.
Directed by Kevin Connolly and written by Cecilia Contreras and Amy Garcia, the cast also stars Jessica Alba (right) – who seems to get caught up in a lot of straight-to-DVD rubbish these days, like Barely Lethal, plus Josh Lucas, Luke Wilson, Claire van der Boom, Joel Courtney, Ione Skye and, son of the action man, Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Dear Eleanor is released on straight to DVD in the US on July 5th, but there isn’t even a UK release date. Don’t hold your breath.
