AVP2 is written by Shane Salerno, and will begin shooting in September, fora 10 August 2007 release.
HELLBOY 2Director Guillermo del Toro revealed at ‘Fangoria’s Weekend Of Horrors’ thatthe sequel to Hellboy has moved from ‘Sony Pictures’ to ‘Paramount’, saying:”They don’t have a deal with ‘Sony’ any more and we are looking forfinancing for Hellboy 2. It’s at ‘Paramount’ right now. It’s bigger inscale, but not necessarily in budget. Abe Sapien has a much bigger part, andwe’re keeping closer to the mythology of the comics. “There is a song byBarry Manilow [in the sequel], and you’ll have to find out about how thatfits in. I know you are all saying ‘what the fuck is that?!'” HOSTEL 2Hostel writer-director Eli Roth told ‘MTV’ that he’s writing the sequel forthree girls, something that producer Quentin Tarantino suggested. Roth:“They’re studying in Italy for the summer, and they get lured, and they goback to… well, we’re going to go back to a lot of familiar places.”
Through the existence of this Italian hostel, Roth plans to reveal that theSlovakian stopover from the first film is actually part of a chain, commenting: “It’s all part of the organization; they’ve got the whole thingset up all over the place, and they have different scouts. We’re going tolearn a lot more about how it all works. In Hostel 2, you’re really going tosee the ins and outs of the whole organization and how they get people andkill them.”
Roth also confirmed that Jay Hernandez’s character Paxton is part of thescript and he’ll encounter the three girls in Italy. “Jay has a few lessfingers, so it might be difficult for him to blend in. But yeah, he’s notout of the woods yet. Hostel 2 is going to start literally with the nextcut, and you’re going to see [Paxton] at the same time. You’ll see that he’stotally messed-up from the experience. It’s completely wrecked him, and hislife is in ruins.”
Roth hopes to begin shooting in August and to release the film in January2007.
FANTASTIC FOUR 2Actor Ioan Gruffudd (right) has spoken about the Fantastic Four sequel, which beginsshooting in Vancouver in late August. Gruffudd revealed he still hasn’t seenthe script, saying: “I have not seen the script or read it. I don’t knowexactly what the story line is. I know Jessica Alba has been talking aboutit quite a bit and I believe that the premise is Silver Surfer is the newcharacter that comes into it.”
“It’s fantastic. You know it’s beyond our wildest dreams on how [the firstmovie] performed in the box office. Obviously, personally I’m delighted thatwe’re going back. Hopefully this one will be successful and we’ll go backfor a third one as well after that.”
Gruffudd did confirm that co-star Julian MacMahon, who played Dr Doom in thefirst movie, will be returning, saying: “I’m sure he’ll be just asambiguous. Is he on our side or isn’t he?”
Fantastic Four 2 is set for a release on 15 June 2007.
INDIANA JONES 4George Lucas told ‘Access Hollywood’ that he is pushing to get Sean Conneryto appear in Indiana Jones 4, saying: “I would love him to be in the nextIndiana Jones… maybe I can push him into it. We are writing him in whetherhe wants to do it or not.” HULK 2There are rumours that the Hulk sequel could restart the franchise andignore Ang Lee’s original. It is already known that, for financial reasons, the Hulk will be shrunk to a more manageable size. It is still not known iforiginal stars Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly will reprise their roles, despite being contracted for a sequel, due to the relative failure of thefirst movie. SWEENEY TODDDirector Tim Burton has delayed his bio-pic of Ripley starring Jim Carrey, due to budgetary concerns ($150m and rising). He will now focus on hismusical adaptation of Sweeney Todd, to star long-time cohort Johnny Depp. DAN’S MOVIE DIGEST BLOG (DMDB) –Dan Owen.blogspot.com

My Super Ex-Girlfriend(Click here for trailer)
Aww, nice to know the poor spurned lad thinks kindly of her.
Er, no, he means “super” as in “special powers”. This is a high-conceptcomedy starring Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson.
The high-concept being Wilson’s girlfriend is actually a superhero?
Exactly. Not the kind of person you want to break-up up with badly.
So it’s a rom-com with a twist.
Yes, Uma Thurman is a seemingly geeky brunette who is actually a gorgeousblonde superwoman (great strength, speed, ability to fly, etc.) Wilson isthe average joe who has to deal with her acts of revenge after he dumps her.
Sounds like fun. Is the trailer… fun?
It looks okay, but nothing really caused a belly laugh. It’s full of stuffyou kind of expect, although a shot with Thurman flinging a live shark intoWilson’s bedroom was interesting!
