Elly Roberts reviews
Youre Beautiful
Killer pop ballad from one-time army captain turned singer-songwriter JamesBlunt. This stunning song, his third single after High and Wisemen,is lifted from the best UK album in years.
Back To Bedlam, now at number 4 in the official BBC album charts,is set to make him a household name. The original album version containing anexpletive, has thankfully been edited to turn this into this years mostmemorable and universal love song in a generation.
Written by 27 year-old Blunt and collaborator Tom Rothrock, it isthe most outstanding track from this finest of British talents. It comes asno real surprise, as the albums been a slow riser since its release latelast year. His current UK tour has been pulling the fans at the speed ofsound. I first saw Blunt supporting Katie Melua, whose success hes about toeclipse, giving the best support slot Ive ever seen. His musical presence wasthere for all to hear, and now hes finally being recognised and rewardedwith the long overdue plaudits and success.
Deserves to be a huge hit,and hopefully itll be number one very soon.Brilliant.

Elly Roberts passed away in 2011, but he was a man who was so passionate about all types of music and loved meeting his musical heroes, such as Mick Hucknall at a book signing at the Trafford Centre, Manchester in 2007.
A former teacher and also a music journalist, DJ and radio presenter on local community station Calon FM, plus appearances on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio 2, Elly started doing reviews for DVDfever.co.uk in 2004 and he did the majority of the CD and concerts reviews on the website.
I know also that he loved getting away for the summer to Spain and I hope that wherever he is now he is enjoying the hot sunshine and, as one of his friends has said on his Facebook page, that he is interviewing his musical heroes.
