Forty six minutes and 17 seconds of club beats as the BPMs (Beats Per Minute) go ballistic.

It’s not usually my bag, but this is one the betterdance albums around by UK songwriters Daz and Paul (a policeman by day). They work independently – Paul in Scotland and Daz in Manchester – the guysfile share using MSN Messenger.

Following on from the phenomenal successof the re-working of the Daryl Hall and John Oates’ 1984 classic Out OfTouch earlier this year, Uniting Nations throw their hat into the albumring. On a Sunny day in the Asda car park in Wrexham, I heard the singleblaring out of a car – and thought – brilliant mix, and bought the single.

Now comes more dance orientated exploits. It’s not art – but it’s highlyinfectious. The first two are express Euro blasts, though She’s Special ismore in the slick disco – mode, rather than out-and out-dance, featuring abrilliant soul-vocal by Donovan Blackwood. Remaining tracks are sung byJinian Wilde. The extended Out Of Touch, by club DJ demand, is worth thewait even if it’s 7 minutes 40 seconds.

From 13 to 19 there’s DJ Tools, vocal and instrument intro, samples enablingbedroom DJ’s to remix Uniting Nations with ease.
