Exists is a horror movie set in the woods where, for five friends, it was a chance for a summer getaway – a weekend of camping in the Texas Big Thicket. But visions of a carefree vacation are shattered with an accident on a dark and desolate country road. In the wake of the accident, a bloodcurdling force of nature is unleashed – something not exactly human, but not completely animal – an urban legend come to terrifying life…and seeking murderous revenge.
Directed by Eduardo Sánchez, and starring Dora Madison Burge, Samuel Davis, Denise Williamson, Roger Edwards, Chris Osborn, plus Brian Steele as the Sasquatch, this does seem rather ‘seen it all before’, but then the director was also responsible for 1999’s supposedly ‘groundbreaking’ The Blair Witch Project, which I thought was dire. Hence, you know what to expect, as it’s basically the same.
Exists doesn’t yet have a UK release date, but is out in the US on October 24th.
