Finding Her Edge is Netflix’s new Young Adult skating drama, which is basically 90210: The Skating Years.
Adriana Russo (Madelyn Keys) is a former ice skating champion, who’s hey-day was some time ago, and now, her sister, Elise (Alexandra Beaton), is on the rise.
Their mother is fridged, but middle-aged Dad, Will (Harmon Walsh), is on hand with his impossibly flat stomach to make all the young ladies swoon, while the late matriarch’s best friend, Camille (Meredith Forlenza), has been coaching both daughters, and Adriana might get back into the rink, but will she join with former ice skating partner – and ex-boyfriend – Freddie (Olly Atkins), or with smartass Brayden (Cale Ambrozic), who’s a bit of a tosser?
Well, he’s always been a tosser to someone, but the Russo family – famed for their own training rink – is also having money troubles, given that Elise’s first major problem in the series that Daddy didn’t keep up with the least payments on her fancy car.
Cue a ton of sibling rivalry, and family arguments. Hell, ALL the women are bitchy to each other!
And early on, I saw something ridiculous when da yoof were enjoying a party with… shock horror… BEER! When two of the idiots start a fight, leading to the police turning up, but rather than just cart off the couple of miscreants, the entire party is shut down!
Created for TV by Jeff Norton – who also brought us 2024’s Geek Girl, someone will love Finding Her Edge, but for me, I could feel my precious brain cells ebbing away, the more I watched it.
Thanks to our friends at Netflix for the screener prior to release.
Finding Her Edge is on Netflix from today.
It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
