Happy Christmas is a new comedy starring Anna Kendrick, which is set at Christmas but is out in the US during the summer.
Irresponsible 20-something Jenny (Kendrick) arrives in Chicago to live with her older brother Jeff (Joe Swanberg), a young film-maker living a happy existence with his novelist wife Kelly (Melanie Lynskey) and their two-year-old son. Jenny’s arrival shakes up their quiet domesticity as she and her friend Carson (Lena Dunham) instigate an evolution in Kelly’s life and career. Meanwhile, Jenny strikes up a rocky relationship with the family’s baby sitter-cum-pot dealer.
Happy Christmas also stars Mark Webber and has yet to get a UK release date. It’s not something I’ll be holding my breath for, though.
