Hostages is a new series starting on Channel 4 this weekend, in which everyone you see might not be what they first seem.
Dylan McDermott (where’s he been for ages?) plays experienced FBI Agent Duncan Carlisle, Toni Collette plays experience surgeon and all-round loving mom Dr. Ellen Sanders, with Tate Donovan in tow as drippy husband Brian. Duncan knows all about how to deal with hostage situations, especially one he creates himself when he takes a heap of hostages with Ellen’s family. Tomorrow, she’s due to perform surgery on the President of the United States of America… but Duncan wants the man to die. Can she go through with it? And what else will follow?
This trailer does seem to give away a bit too much at times, but there’s 15 episodes to the series, with a second on its way, so hopefully much more to discover.
And at the age of 52, Dylan McDermott has so got to be using hair dye!
