A few weeks ago, it was rumoured that Vic & Bob‘s first-ever studio sitcom, House of Fools, was about to be cancelled after one series because the ratings had fallen to around 800k by the end of the series, even though it was a huge fan favourite.
Set in Bob’s home, the second series of House Of Fools will once again feature uninvited lodgers, visitors and guests who constantly fill the house, wreaking havoc everywhere they go. Vic and Bob will also be joined by lady-obsessed lothario Beef (Matt Berry), Geordie ex-con Bosh (Dan Skinner) and Bob’s sulky son Erik (Daniel Simonsen) while man-eater Julie (Morgana Robinson) will still be lurking next door.
Vic and Bob said: “We are overjoyed and thankful to our great corporation for their diligence in this matter.”
Shane Allen, Controller of Comedy Commissioning, who announced the news at the Salford Comedy Festival 2014, said “House Of Fools is a much-needed big old rainbow of daftness in a world that is too grey and sensible. Those two lovable twits work very hard at making something that looks so effortlessly silly and it’s a thrill to know there’s plenty more where that came from.”
Mark Freeland, Controller of Fiction and Entertainment, added: “Vic and Bob are one-offs. Thank the gods of Comedy and BBC Two that House Of Fools isn’t.”
No broadcast date has yet been set for series 2, but when it is shown, if you’re a fan, tell your friends so everyone watches it!!
