Hurry Up And Wait – Inside No.9 Series 6 Episode 4 – The DVDfever Review

Hurry Up And Wait
Hurry Up And Wait is the fourthepisode of Inside No.9 Series 6.

James (Reece Shearsmith) has a small part in a new ITV crime drama, and is waiting to be called for his big moment, but he just needs to wait in static caravan No.9, and there’s a very odd family who live there.

Bev (Donna Preston) has a staring fixation and states her her favourite Disney film is “Dumbo 1“, whilst holding her baby… sort-of. Meanwhile, mum, Oona (Pauline McLynn), is very demanding, while Dad, Stan (Steve Pemberton), seems the most unhinged of the lot. Whatever their issues, everything leaves him feeling very uncomfortably out of place.

While he’s trying to learn his lines, the family interrupt with their own theories about how the drama should play out, since he’s playing a cop in a drama about a particular tragedy.

On the plus side, for him, James is very pleased to be working with Adrian Dunbar, who’s portraying himself, here.

It’s amusing when he accidentally upsets Dunbar, over the fact he’s playing a cop in this as well as his role as Ted Hastings in Line of Duty.

The story comes together in the last third, although it’s not quite landing before that.

Inside No.9 Series 6 is available to pre-order on DVD, ahead of the release date on June 21st, but there’s no Blu-ray listed yet, nor even for Series 5.

There’s also Inside No. 9: Collector’s Edition: The Scripts: Series 1-3 in Hardcover.

After broadcast, each episode will be on the BBC iPlayer.
